Is God speaking to your heart?

Ship's Log 02.05.2013
God Heart 2 Clip Art

Have you ever had a moment where you wished you could help someone in a special way? You hear about someone who did a selfless act and you wondered if you could ever do that?

The year 2012 was a very trying year for my husband and I...my husband lost his job, then he had a stroke.. We had to move from where we lived, because we could no longer afford to live there.. We moved into a very small apartment with our son and had to accept his financial support. Throughout the year, we never gave up on God. We knew that He would help us....and He did. Through friends and family, He provided all of our needs. Yes, we had to give up our wants, but the sacrifice brought us closer to God. Without the help of our son, daughters and one very special friend, we would have felt alone.. God spoke to hearts and those hearts responded.

The year 2013 has brought new hope for us. My husband has fully recovered from his stroke and he recently found a job. We are beginning to get our lives back and it's all thanks to those who listened to their hearts.

Now, I want to help someone the way I was helped. There is a very special family who wishes to adopt two children, a brother and sister. They are just short of the funds needed. I have donated to this cause because God spoke to my heart......and I listened.

I ask you now to listen to your heart and see if God is asking you to donate just $5.00 to this family. A small amount that can make a huge difference in the happiness of these two children and the family that wishes to adopt them.

This is the Gunderson family. Jessie and her husband Matt wish to add to their family, to share their love and their home.

In Jessie's own words:

I’ll Never Get my Life Back
I’ve never thought of myself as the mothering type. I was the girl making mud pies and riding horses. The delight I experienced once I started having kids surprised me but I still longed for a day when they’d be grown up and I’d get my life back.
One day I was thinking about God’s profound love for us and how Jesus gave up his life so we could live and I began to change. I realized I couldn’t love God and despise His creation. I prayed for Jesus to show me how to love people.
I’ve been a mother eleven years this December, learning how to love, surrender my agenda and the perfectionist tendencies, and grow to a place where I no longer want a different life. Isaiah 58:10 says to spend yourself. And as I studied God’s selfless character, I realized that’s how I want to be.
I delivered a little boy, my fifth child, at our home in the woods and I knew that our family wasn’t complete. God revealed over the next year and a half, His plan for further growing our family to include internationally adopted children. We’re currently in the process of adopting a 5 and 7 year old brother and sister from Ethiopia. She wants to be a judge when she grows up and he wants to be a runner. The journey toward them is immense and the heart change has taken me a lifetime but I no longer want out. I want to surrender to Christ’s strength and lean on him so I can spend myself loving the least of these.

Can you see it in your heart to help this family come together? If you cannot spare $5.00, then can you please keep this family in your prayers? For those who read this far, I thank you and God bless.

There is a link to the right of this post where you can go to enter into a contest and donate if you wish.
