OurPrayer

About OurPrayer

OurPrayer is a Christ-centered ministry that embraces people of all faiths and all ages from all over the world.  We believe in the power of prayer, which lifts the problems of our daily lives, our families and our communities directly to God.
We follow the path pioneered by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale that honors the essence of the gospel, and the values that spring from that message, to the broadest possible audience in a way that will have maximum, life-changing impact.
For the majority of those we reach, committed Christians who look first to God, we serve to reinforce their faith and to strengthen it.  Through prayer and devotion, we inspire people and show them how to live their faith and share it with others.
OurPrayer is a service of Guideposts. Guideposts is the spiritual ally that helps people connect faith-filled values with their daily lives.
"Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer, and listen to the cry of my supplication." Psalm 86:6  (AMP)

Become a Prayer Volunteer

Do you have an hour or more a week to spare? You can pray for others in the privacy of your own home.

There are 3 ways that you can become an OurPrayer Volunteer:

Pray Online

Pray for Prayer Requests on the Web. Web volunteers are given access to a secured online area to pray. Pray online or print out a list for later reflection. This option offers the most flexibility whenever and wherever you have the time.

Pray on the phone

Prayer line volunteers are trained to listen to the concerns of callers and pray with them by name and need. Toll-free Prayer line calls are forwarded to the volunteer’s home at a scheduled time for a minimum of one to two hours each week.

Write Prayers Online

Volunteers are trained to write personal prayer responses to encourage and comfort those struggling with distressing circumstances. Prayer responses are emailed to the person requesting prayer through OurPrayer system to protect volunteer’s privacy.

I started out years ago as an Online Prayer volunteer. I would either pray right then and there or I would print out some prayer requests and pray for them later....Now, I write prayers online. I prefer this way, because I know that whomever I am praying for will get an actual written prayer from me. I have actually requested prayer for myself a few times and I can tell you that getting a prayer in my email is a true comfort. I just pray that my prayers also comfort those who receive them.

It doesn't take a lot of your time to volunteer. You can pray for as few/many requests that your time permits.
Won't you join our team?

  1. Such a pretty box!

Prayer helps so much! There have been times when as soon as I prayed, God answered. That is an awesome feeling :) But I also know that even if I don't get an immediate answer, God heard me and will do what is best.

    1. Yes, it is a wonderful feeling when our prayers are answered right away.....the times when God seems silent are when our faith truly comes into play.
Thanks for coming aboard Sarah....your name is in the drawing.

  2. I have had experiences with praying where I could feel God saying yes and I have definitely felt the no's. But getting that answer good or bad it solidifies that we are not alone.

    1. Yes, it seems like His no answers are much louder than any other answer....probably because He doesn't want us to open up our own doors. Thanks for sharing Jackie, your name is in the drawing.
