CHAPPY DEBBIE'S WEEK-IN-REVIEW

Ship's Log 01.30.2016

What I spied from the deck of me ship
                    January 24th-January 29th

Ahoy Mateys! Welcome aboard, find yerself a nice spot on the deck and enjoy.

                               BOOKS:

This past week I spied MaryLu Tyndall's newest release Charity's Cross. You can pre-order the ebook at a great price. On Monday, the price goes up....or purchase the paperback, which is available now. This has to be my favorite book of MaryLu's so far. I adore all of her books, but for some reason this one captured me. I've read it twice already and intend to read it again once I get my hands on the paperback.

If you are a long-time fan of MaryLu's books, you will recognize a lot of the characters. But, this is a stand-alone book, so if it's the first book you've read by her, no worries. And I guarantee that once you read this book, you will want to seek out more of MaryLu's books.
I created a few memes for MaryLu to help promote Charity's Cross. I will be sharing them over the next few weeks on Facebook and Twitter. Here are a couple that I've shared already:

 Description....

Suspected of killing her husband, Charity Westcott flees on the first ship out of Portsmouth, England heading for the colonies. Loathing all men after her abusive marriage, she hopes to reunite with her family in Charles Towne, but the ship’s destination is Nassau. When she spots her husband’s brother, who is intent on seeing her hang, boarding her ship, she jumps overboard.

Elias Dutton, missionary and son of the famous pirate, Rowan Dutton, must get to Barbados as soon as possible. His sister is in danger, and his parents have charged him with her safety. He cannot let them down—again. But after rescuing a madcap woman from the bay, he now finds himself tricked into masquerading as her husband so they both can procure passage to Barbados.
Pirates, storms, shipwreck and betrayal threaten to delay the couple in their journey even as sparks fly between them. With her brother-in-law in fast pursuit, the last thing Charity wants is help from a man, especially a religious one, but she has no choice. After Elias’ heart was broken by a sordid woman who nearly ruined his life, he seeks a godly woman pure as the virgin sands of the Caribbean. He believes he has found such a woman in Charity. Until he discovers she is a murderer and is now faced with two choices: letting her go or turning her in to the authorities.

My Review:

Classic MaryLu!

I am so in love with MaryLu Tyndall's books, especially her pirate series, and I've yet to be disappointed by her writing. She has taken me on adventure after adventure, causing me to sigh, cry, grimace and Praise God.
I love it when books touch my soul....books that take me back to a time, place and characters that I have loved and missed. If you have read MaryLu's books, namely her pirate series, this is going to please you to no end. If you are a first time reader of her books, once you read Charity's Cross, you will want to grab MaryLu's Charles Towne Belles and Legacy of the King's Pirates series, to read about all of the adventures that you have missed out on.
Charity's Cross is about the 4th sister, Charity, from the Charles Towne Belles series....she's rarely mentioned, but mentioned enough to want to know her story. And FINALLY, MaryLu has penned Charity's story. And let me tell you.....NO, I won't go into any details, for I truly hate spoilers in reviews. I will say, however, that this story tells of God's forgiveness and reminds us that we need to always put God's will ahead of our own. Ignoring His voice can have some serious repercussions in our lives....as Charity drastically discovers. Do you ever find yourself blaming someone else or yourself for bad things that happen in your life? Do you blame God? While enjoying this wonderful tale, you will be reminded of the truth that no matter where you find yourself in life, no matter how desperate things seem....God will use your suffering for good. It will all work out in the end.....just trust in Him.
Along with a wonderful message of trust, Charity's Cross will provide...Adventure on the high seas! Danger! Love! Oh, and PIRATES!
I highly recommend this book, especially to those who have waited.....and waited.....for Charity's story to be told.
Bravo, once again, MaryLu! Your pirate series are where you truly shine and Charity's Cross is a Classic MaryLu Tyndall story. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

This week I want to share about a great pizza place....

                           Westside Pizza

Whenever we have the urge to eat pizza, we always order from this company. They are pleasant to deal with and the pizza is yummy. We usually order online for take out. This past week we ordered two pizzas and after waiting for an hour for delivery, the pizza man arrived with a third pizza as an apology for being late! This company only has stores in 3 states here on the West Coast. Click on the name above to find a location near you.

                   January 2015-January 2016

Ahoy Mateys! It's been awhile since I've posted to me blog...life!
I have decided to change things up a bit. I will be posting just once a week with my "Week-in-Review" posts. I will be sharing various things that I spied throughout the week. I hope ye like it.                                MOVIES

Here be a few movies that I spied over the year worth mentioning.

God's Not Dead

A very good movie. I highly recommend it.

Avengers Age of Voltron

Not as good as the first movie, but worth watching.

Cinderella

Not my favorite Cinderella movie, but a good wholesome version.

NEWS:

Each week, I will post any news that I deem worth mentioning.
The biggest news of 2015: My hubby (aka the Butler) has had a tough year, with doctor visits, hospital stays and bladder cancer. That year is now gone and so is the cancer. Yes, he still battles other ailments, but God is still in control and we just take each day as it comes.

BLOGS:

Each week I am going to introduce a blogger and give you a link to his/her blog. This week I am introducing MaryLu Tyndall's blog.

She blogs three times a week...Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Her Monday posts are very inspirational and thought provoking. Her Wednesday Picture and verse will bless you. And her Friday posts are usually about promoting upcoming releases and various things. Stop by and be blessed.
Here is the link to her blog The Cross and Cutlass

Ship's Galley:

This is where I post about any foods, drinks, establishments, etc that caught my eye during the week....that's worth sharing. For this blog post, I want to mention a pork roast combo pack that I purchased from Walmart. It contains a small roast, red potatoes, carrots and an onion. I love my crock pot and this meal fits perfectly inside it. The Butler and I have enjoyed this roast a couple times now and it is simply delicious. You have to love a "set it and forget it" dinner. The most I had to do was cut up the potatoes and onion. It even came with a seasoning pack.
For future Galley posts, I will be on the lookout for recipes, tips or anything that is worth sharing.

This is where I will post any giveaways that I will be having...or share about giveaways others are having. So, make sure and check each week to see what's going on.

Here is where I will announce winners of my giveaways.

Well, Mateys, what say you? Do you like this new set-up? Can ye see yerself returning here once a week? Let yer voice be heard in the comment section.

Have a blessed week!
